> Technical Skills
- Proficient in (X)HTML, CSS, Javascript, PHP, MySQL and conform to web standards. I have implemented and improved upon these skills over a number of years. From 2004-2005, I maintained the Mearns Academy website whilst I was a pupil there. This provided me with experience of Macromedia Dreamweaver. View websites I've worked on.
- Competent in Java- have studied Java for 3 years at University, learning the basic concepts of object-oriented programming. View Java programs I've developed.
- Good knowledge of Visual Basic .NET. Completed several small portfolios for a module at university, consisting of small, basic programs. Also wrote a photo gallery program in this language as part of my Honours Project. View VB.NET programs I've created.
- Experienced with the use of Microsoft Office- have used this software for the majority reports and presentations I have created since 1999.
> Soft Skills
- Excellent communication skills- Was Class Representative for 3 years running. I also developed my communication skills whilst at working Journeycall. When dealing with customers over the phone, their needs have to be assessed quickly and effectively.
- Ability to work well in a team- I have used my team work skills on many occasions at University because working with others is an integral part of the Computing course. In addition to this, I have also used my team skills while I was a Prefect at Mearns Academy from 2004-2005.
